Balesh Baleshan

Dr. Balesh Baleshan has over 15 years of experience in façade engineering, with a career that includes key roles at GJames, Australia’s leading integrated glass and aluminium manufacturer, and as Façade Engineering Lead (QLD) at Arup, a global multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. He has contributed to high-profile projects across sectors including health, infrastructure, science and technology, arts and culture, sports, and major high-rise developments. Beyond project delivery, Balesh is actively involved in research, higher education, and industry standards development. He played a key role in establishing a university façade engineering course and serves as a technical committee member for multiple Australian Standards, contributing to updates to glazing standards. Balesh has been recognised with the ‘Emerging Leader’ and ‘Standards Hero’ awards by Standards Australia. He has also served as Chair of Engineers Australia’s Structural College Queensland, supporting the development of industry standards and the professional growth of engineers.
