John Douglas

John Douglas is Group Pre-Construction Director at Alutec. Headquartered in Qatar, Alutec delivers projects across the world and has offices & facilities in Toronto, Vancouver, Switzerland, Ireland, India and Shanghai. Alutec is currently working on several towers across North America, including the CURV in Vancouver. A Civil Engineer with a degree from Trinity College Dublin, John’s work has been focused on the delivery of complex geometry mega projects, mainly towers and stadia. He has a keen interest in the digital workflow from parametric models, through automated production and installation. With 20 years of experience in varied regions globally, he uses this knowledge & experience to engage early with developers and architects, to help deliver cost-effective and constructable solutions, to complex building envelopes. He has delivered over 30 major projects and notable highlights include Lusail Plaza Towers & the Fifa 2022 World Cup Final Stadium – Lusail Stadium (both by Foster + Partners), Aviva Stadium, Dublin & Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium, London (both by Populous) & Hamad Port, Qatar (PLP Architects). He has spoken widely at conferences about the delivery of complex facades.
